The bot redirects chatters from using derogatory terms and also asks for consent before beginning a conversation. Even more, the Slutbot is designed to help users learn to use dirty talk in a safe and respectful way. Slutbot users can customize the identity of their bot, choose whether they want the conversation to be “Slow & Sensual” or “Hot & Heavy,” and can also text a safe word if they want the texting to stop. As a response to this need, Juicebox launched the Slutbot, a free chatbot with whom users can practice talking dirty. “Sex is uniquely difficult to do market research on,” she says, and what she has learned about her users is helping her make Juicebox better.Īs the app gained more traction, she noticed one trend in particular: a significant number of users were looking to improve their sexting and dirty talk. “It’s important to embrace who you are and embrace your differences as a strength because it can help you see things others wouldn’t see.”Īs Juicebox has grown, Rader appreciates that she has been able to collect data and insight on people’s sexual needs. While she often has to strategize about which pieces of herself to reveal to investors, she knows her differences ultimately make her stronger. As such, she says it has been a challenge “trying to shape who I am and the story we’re telling when it comes to fundraising and getting into those secret circles.” “Those are three strikes against me.” For many, she explains, sex still feels like a taboo topic. “It’s really hard being a female founder in addition to being queer in addition to doing sexual wellness,” she says. Rader has also had to battle a lot of stigma to get to where she is today. That also influences the way we educate and the way we open people’s minds across all sexualities. “Sex doesn’t have to be penis and vagina all the time. “I think being queer, you’re more aware of different teachings when it comes to sex,” she says. For example, users mark their genders and sexualities on a sliding scale, rather than checking a specific box or label. Rader has ensured the app is inclusive of all kinds of sex, and she believes her own queer identity has contributed to making it more comprehensive. Juicebox sends custom advice to users based on their gender, sexuality, age, and relationship status.
